love at moss tide

(*FEATURED ON Green Wedding Shoes’ BLOG:

Let’s just say this past month was a bit of a whirl wind! We were messaged by a long time friend Talia at Talia Studio for a styled shoot she had in mind. At first I had no idea what she meant. What’s a styled shoot?  I see pictures of fake weddings all the time but have never thought it had a name! (Well, actually I did that a lot in our meetings *puzzled face look*) To get a better understanding, we met and talked about the ideas revolving around a “fall concept” with Talia’s vintage dress being the feature of the shoot.  She then mentions that she can fit this photo-shoot into her schedule at the end of the month (at which point I panicked.)  Creating a fake wedding in a month? What do I get myself into?!  Since Making Mantra is more of our passion than our job (meaning we keep it to 1 to 2 events/month,) it was a no brainer! Let’s do this!

As soon as we get home we both start sending each other images of dresses, concepts, colors, vendors, etc.  Doing what we do, I knew how to work with vendors with this time limited project (by pleading, bartering, and selling off my 1st born child!)  After making a few calls, one came after the other: the florist confirmed, items purchased, the cake set, and the party rentals confirmed! While Talia had the makeup artist, hats ordered, invitation made, location set, and models scheduled. All within 3 weeks, we were set (with a little blood, sweat, and a dose of anxiety of course.)

By the last week before the shoot, Talia and I just meshed together and trusted that both our vision were in line with one another.  And the result, was a whispy, organic, supercalifragilistic styled shoot named “Love at Moss Tide.”

*P.S. if you do want a wedding like this, don’t forget the Citronella candles!!!
